Star Wars Assault Team: Construct IG-88

Welcome to Stuff For Guys, where you'll find information about a lot of useless stuff, an occasional useful stuff, but it's all stuff for guys.  The team at LucasArts and Disney Mobile have released a version upgrade (v1.2) to the Star Wars Assault Team game on May 1, 2014.  One of the biggest changes is the "Construct IG-88" Special Mission, a.k.a. "Rescue Mission - IG-88", where you "Promote the IG-88 Chassis and build your own Assassin Droid!".  In other words, you gather all of the required items to upgrade to a Tier 2 (Yellow) IG-88, which you can then level up and promote into a fearsome Tier 5 character to use in your missions and Arena battles!  Some of these were covered in my earlier post about the v1.2 update, but this post is dedicated to this mission and shows you each step of the 21 missions that it took me to get all of the items.  Or you can just fast forward to the final videos!

Summary
It took me 21 missions, at a cost of 126 Energy, to obtain all of the items required to promote the IG-88 Chassis to a Tier 2 IG-88 character.  It's fitting that the final mission was an Epic Level.  The promotion will then cost 1 gem.  Here are the videos of the final mission and the promotion process:

Promotion Items
Here are the 4 types of items that you need to get:

IG-88 Chassis (x1)

IG-88 Memory Chip (x10)

IG-88 Hydraulics (x5)

IG-88 Restraining Bolt (x1)

Promotion Process
The IG-88 Chassis is an actual character card, so you can find it in the team with the rest of your heroes.  Leave it in the Reserves team for now, as it's pretty much useless as a member of the Missions Team.

Remember, you can only employ one IG-88 at a time, so feel free to sell any extra IG-88 Chassis cards for credits.

That C-3PO... such a helpful droid...

Promotion Process and Conclusion
Well, that certainly took long enough.  21 missions x 6 Energy = 126 Energy.  There were some really bad stretches in there that made it tempting to just pay the gems to upgrade, but then we wouldn't have known just how many missions it would take to complete this Special Mission.  As mentioned before, the final promotion still costs 1 gem.  Here are the screens:

Promotion Cost: 1 Corusca Gem

The Final Product:

Enjoy the game and thanks for reading!
